During my time in Budapest and up until Halloween I was immersed in a book about the life of Mata Hari, who I have been fascinated by for many years. I was inspired to portray her when presented with the Phantasmagoria theme for Tribal Weekend in the Ukraine. Here I am portraying the Spectre of Mata Hari. How she might appear and tell a story through movement to those who are summoning her from beyond the veil by means of seance or otherwise…. I did my research and wove many of her most famous poses from the historic photographs into this dance. Music is “Labyrinth” by Raquey and the Cavemen.
